The Power of Anchor-Text/Backlinks!

I had an email from Namecheap today saying I needed to renew one of my old domain names, the domain was running a Wordpress site. I had no intention on renewing the domain so I went to delete the wordpress database, etc at Hostgator.

I got to looking at a few old sites & was ready to delete a 2nd blog that I never had the time to really work on like it needed. Basically I setup the site & hand built about 10 backlinks, lol. Six of those backlinks are PR5 blog comments with keyword anchor-text.

Anyways, I did a quick check in Google SERP just to see If the site ever ranked any pages on it's own. Sure enough the index page is sitting on page #4 (yeah that blows, lol) still not bad considering I really didn't do any real work on the site other than a WP install & a few backlinks.

It's actually a good keyword for Amazon, computer + keyword2.

Looks like I need to build some real backlinks & get this keyword on page#1 in Google SERPs.

Just a heads up, If you have any old sites don't forget to check on them every few months, or at least before you decide not to renew the domain.

I'm glad I double checked the SERPs for the main keyword.

I've already built about 6 new PR5 backlinks for 3 keywords on the site, since my first comment.

I might get the site to page #1 in the SERPs & flip it on Flippa, I'm not sure yet?

That might be a good way of making some cash! Plus domain age helps a lot when selling a site. But you might think of hanging onto it and putting some affiliate product links on it and just letting it sail while building a few links to it every week in your spare time.

If you are using targeteed keywords in the anchore text then it will help you to ranking for that targeted keywords
