I'm asked this question so many times, i see all WSO buyers asking the same questions every time. So When you see a service that offers link building and you see PR3 and up numbers in their package, ALWAYS its about backlinks on internal pages of sites that have high Page Rank. You will not get a single link place on an actual PR5+ page. Thats because, in 99.9% of the times, such links cost from 30$ per month and webmasters are not stupid to let automation tools spam their most valuable pages. "500 backlinks from PR5+ websites" means 500 backlinks from PR0 or N/A pages inside those sites. "Get PR8+ backlinks" means that you get profile links from PR8+ forums. Those profile pages are new pages with page rank N/A (grey) Heck, even PR1 backlinks (backlinks placed on pages with page rank 1) are sold for 0.5$ per month (sometimes higher sometimes lower than that but still). Hope this was helpful for some people. |

So so true.... and it's so easy for people to create their own backlinks on ACTUAL PR1-4 DOFOLLOW blog pages that I'm surprised more people don't just do it on their own. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR... and if it sounds too good to be true, it usually is... unless you're in the IM industry, then it ALWAYS IS |

That makes sense. That being the case if you were to post enough comments on a PR4 blog that is using the top commentators plugin you will get the juice from that blog, at least until the end of the month when the plugin is usually reset.

| My backlinks service or products have clear enough descriptions to avoid any confusion between submitting to high PR sites vs. getting a link on a high PR page. Anyway, thanks for asking.

Well i dont agree with you. Why? Becouse all of service providers are selling HIGH PR, but that is not what you get when you buy it. When i offer my services to someone, i deliver what im selling. For example, i was offering PR3 backlink to one of my customers and i would deliver exactly that. I would put their link to front page. YES, price is price... But you as a seller should give your price for what you offer. I will deliver PR2 backlink for 45$/year, PR3 for 70$/year... this is just my 5 cents

| I think I know what you are saying but it might be misleading. You are talking about profile/forum packages. ALL services are not like. I know several providers including myself that offer linkbuilding packages on actual home pages. one (not me) even offers a package of 8 PR4 backlinks for around $10 per month.

Good thread. I see this kind of thing all the time. And I think it's done to cause confusion, or hide what is really being offered. Just saying "PR4 backlink" is not nearly enough. Is that the PR of the page or PR of the domain? Is the link DoFollow or NoFollow? Does that link include anchor text? etc...

These packages all should be sold as just backlinks unless the links are placed on the actual page that has the PR value.

The PR of the parent domain is what matters, not the page rank of the page itself. Anyone who has been a subscriber of Angela's backlink packets understands this, as the results speak for themselves.

While it is true that a lot and probably most links sold are not from the Pages with PR it is not true that it always true. You can buy links from high PR pages you just have to make sure you know what you are getting. There are two basic ways to get links from the actual PR pages. The first is blog commenting and the second is actual Homepage links. I do both so I know that they are available. You can usually tell by the cost, if you see someone selling 1k links for $10 then obviously they are not selling you links from the actual pages with the high PR. Common sense only says so, if it looks to good to be true than it probably is. Quote:

Coming from someone that is a link whore and pretty much never met a link I did not like there is a big difference in the value of profile links and links embedded in content on an actual PR 5 page. This is even more true since the last couple of updates. While there is a place for profile links and they do help (especially in those low competition niches) they are not anywhere near as good as a link in an article full of related content sitting directly on a PR 5 page, not even close.
