The way i see it, you submit a feed with 10s of links to obscure RSS dirs, with thousands of other feeds. And it's supposed from all the feeds on that site, and all the links in each of them, to pass enough PR to each link to get it indexed? And the rss directory site doesn't have much of a PR to start with. Does it actually works at all? If someone has did case study on indexing links wiht just this alone, would you point me to it? |

It can be useful for getting links crawled by Google (not necessarily indexed) - tools like linklicious.me use this, but they only promise to get the links crawled.

It helps in getting your pages covered by your RSS crawled. But it has no value in ranking your pages for certain keywords.

| i think linlicious just pings the URLs, they don't submit to RSS dirs for hard links to the feeds

And why do you use RSS FEEDS? To get crawled, linklicious tracks the crawls and pings your links until you get crawled which then in turn boosts your SERPS. | |

Yes, without a doubt rss submissions work for the very reason mr linklicious said. Part of the "gotcha" though is limiting the number of items in said rss feed. I've heard mixed feedback and I myself have seen mixed results from feeds in excess of 50-100 links each or mega feeds with 500-1000 each as well.
