Haven't tried them, but make sure if you do the sites are in a niche you enjoy because you'll still have to update and work hard on them.

What services are you speaking of in particular? Most of the time, ready-made sites will still require work on your end to get the income to a level where it needs to be. A lot of these services do the initial "grunt work" for you, but it's definitely up to you whether or not you can turn them into consistent money makers.

to be fair you would probably be better off spending that money on content on a blog that you can create yourself. You can find someone to install wordpress and a theme on your hosting for $5. $5 - Hostgator $5 - Install wordpress and a theme of your choice $50 - Get 10 decent articles written on your niche Submit the articles to your blog and to a few of the top directories social bookmarking, forum posting, blog commenting - You can do all these things yourself for free. |

I have to agree with this, unless you are buying a site with unique content you are better off just putting one together yourself. If you can get the site cheap and the theme is real nice that is one thing but you are going to have to put some unique content on the site anyway to rank well so you might as well start from scratch with it. Now some people are selling sites with unique content, in that case you just have to weigh the cost vs putting it together yourself. Quote:

We haven't yet sold any sites pre-earnings for the simple reason that it's not as profitable to do so. I know the site I create will earn $X per month within a few months. Since I know this, I'd either have to charge the customer almost as much as it would make, on average, if I created the site myself. (Putting all the risk on the buyer, when it would probably be better to buy our proven sites) Or...I'd have to charge considerably less than the site would cost if it did have earnings...a bad deal for me. I question any seller willing to pre-sell you sites before they've had a chance to earn...why not build them out for themselves and then sell with proven revenue? I've been back and forth on this too, so I'm not entirely convinced, but I'm having trouble seeing why I would sell them that way at this point. |
