These are nice tips, I just bookmarked it, I never consider all these things when I am doing SEO, I just care about updating keyword & Meta description along with title, never had touched H1 etc....., It looks like those are important apart from OFFSITE SEO too,

Great onsite SEO tips. You can certainly really start with this list and finish up. Of course word density plays a role but that can be for another post! thanks for the information.

The cargo cult again....does anybody actually read the friggin' post??????!!?? First post and it's nothing but supporting keyword stuffing. If those are the "SEO settings the right secret of success," we are all in trouble. Where is the "No thanks" button? Yes, you did forget something: Common sense. Oh wait a second. I see this in your post: Quote:

| Man From The Moon War Room Member | Use Nofollow in the external links - not sure whether that is entirely true. I haven't confirmed it yet, but i heard from multiple resources that it is useful to link with a dofollow link to an authority website.

Is this 2001 again? This was great when search engines first came out but modifying only your on site optimization will only get you so far and not very far at that. If the search engines solely relied on on site, just imagine the cluster**** that the SERP results would be. The search engines rely on other factors outside of onsite optimization. Granted you need decent on site optimization techniques, but that is not the be all end all of SERP results. If it was, we'd all be SEO gurus ranking for thousands of keywords. |

Google Webmaster Tools Help: About rel="nofollow" So basically Nofollow appears to be a moot point. If you Nofollow a website Google will question why you posted the link in the first place. Google just wants to see Nofollow on paid links & content that you want it to not crawl (page rank sculpting). Untrusted content like comment spam Google is willing to give you a pass on, however if in your content you have Nofollow you might trigger an algorithm signal flagging Google to check the site you Nofollowed to see why. There also was a similar question posed in the Google webmaster forums that was answered by some Googlers and people that basically live & breath for Google algorithm info ![]() Google Webmaster Central Help: Questions about rel="nofollow" From what these folks are saying you are entirely correct, it won't hurt you to allow links to authority websites because Google is all about the company you keep. The recent Panda/Farmer update was all about quality. & if the link you are providing your visitors is quality info... you should have no worries. Personally, I've been doing SEO for over 8 yrs now. I've yet to see one of my clients sites get smacked down because they linked a blog post to Wikipedia or CNN. Now if they were linking to happyspammerswholovetosendyourgrandmapornoemailadv ertisments dot com & the site was not about spammers... then there might be an issue. In a nutshell it comes down to clean code, quality links and original quality content. There are over 500 signals in a given yr, trying to chase them all is a waste of time. Follow the rules & create useful informative content. Google's webmaster manifesto: Webmaster starter guide to website optimization pdf ~ Please Google the above terms to find the info posted on Google's help pages. I'm too new to post direct links ~ | |
