A very important and explosive idea that most beginners don't know about!

I just wanted to write out one very important step that beginners forget when they are starting out. the importance of following a solid plan.

Because when you first start out you might look at all of these on page and off page search engine optimization techniques on this forum but then all of the questions pop up.

Where do i start?
how do i implement this?
which source is better than the rest?
is there a class to learn this stuff?
etc,etc

so for me to add some value to this forum and hopefully help alot of people out. I will say this,

you should keep these techniques in a nice little word doc on your computer (or google docs online).

then really figure out what you want your ultimate end goal to be.. lets say you would be happy bringing in a small $10,000 per month. with your own product and a few affiliates.

ok now you reverse engineer. and you start writing out the parts of your business thats needed to get to this end goal.

So just think backwards, starting from your ultimate end goal..

10k/Mo. <-- email list <-- high converting squeeze page <-- start

thats just an example..your plan would be much more detailed than that. but you get the point.

now that you have a complete step by step road map to follow you can start seeing how and where in your business you can best implement these SEO tactics that you read all around the forums.

this involves you doing some research and educating yourself on each of the tactics. then look at your plan that you created and implement the new tactic so that it can propel your business.

eventually you'll master SEO and your income will explode.

But before everything else, a person must be ready to make and keep his own email list. For me keeping an email list is just the same as keeping your own blog consistently running. Take good care of it and it'll grow and pay off nicely. A long term goal should be properly organized or you will forget your system and will be easily distracted by the 'next big thing' ebook that comes in your way.

Yes i agree in the point that if you want to suceed you must have a long term plan for your project, i see for example alot of newbie IM:ers that dosent think long term and just put up a decent site and then leave it.

If you just set the site up and leave you will not get good search engine rankings and conversions. A big part of being able to get the top conversions is test and tweak your website. Another important thing is to backlink your site for a longer time, you can´t just get a 8000 xrumer blast and then think your done. You must backlink the site long term if you want long term top search engine results.

yes, a plan but I have learned to make my plan flexible and I continue to edit the plan as I see results...or lack there of. but you must have a plan of action and stick to it for a while before results roll in.

you are all right... making plans and setting up systems will take you a long way and mae you much more money then just shooting from the hip (as andynathan put it).
