Page 1 filter?

Has anyone experienced having a site that simply would not go past Google page 2 no matter how much you pushed it? I have a site that bounces between spot #11 and 12 and absolutely will not go to page 1 even though the page 1 competition is very weak.

I feel like there is some kind of filter keeping the site off of page 1, although it's easy to assume things when it comes to SEO.

It´s much depends in what the 1-10 pages are like, in domain-autorithy, page-authority, backlinks, linkjuice, (big G likes some links better than other) and there might be other persons that ranks for your keyword(s)

are you build links on the same exact anchor text? If so, try vary your anchor text and include the website address as the anchor. Sometimes it works for me.

This could be the issue but it is hard to know as none of us work at Google as far as I know. Link diversity is important for natural looking backlinks.
