Google Page Rank Update - 27th June.

I notice that Google has been round and done a PR Update.

Many of my previously PR0 sites are now PR1-PR3.

Hell yea! My site went from PR 0 to PR 3! Think thats doing pretty well! Only been live for 4 months! I am guessing that's good? How popular does your site have to be to get to like PR 6+ ?

PR is not as straight forward as people think lol

Yes, several of my sites were only 3 months or so old. Seeing PR1,2,3 accross multiple pages within some sites.

My 3 month old gaming mouse site has done nothing but improve over the past month, shockingly so. from 30 visits a day to 300 in 3 weeks, and now from a PR0 to a PR3.
Was selling 1 mouse every other day, it's been increasing with the visits, did 8 yesterday. Shocked.

I see others have dropped, I know a PR6 that is now a PR4.

1 site I do SEO on, no previous SEO work, PR0, had it for about a month now, it's just gone to PR3. Client will be happy.

Got another that went from PR3 to PR2. (Only just took it though)

Pagerank has more value than people realise in the search rankings too, or at least it seems to on my sites. As for a PR6, from what I understand you need 4 PR7 links "only link on the page" -DoFollow- links to make a PR6 page.

Obviously, there are not many PR7 pages offering links from pages with no links, so obviously more than 4 are needed, but it gives you a good idea of the requirements. There is a rough pagerank estimator within the net somewhere I found. It accurately predicted the pagerank of an insurance related site I have.

My latest Amazon review site that I put up March 25th was bumped to PR1 today!!! Only been up for 3 months. I have made sales on it every month except for March.

Good job! Mine stayed the same...PR 2. I don't see them improving anytime soon since they are mini-sites...can those really rank much higher?? I'll have to check on my blogs though!

I was really surprised my site jumped from PR 0 to 3. I started it in March and had a singapore SEO company work on it. They did 400 blog comments and 200 articles (not spun) with the same anchor text.

I ranked for that KW for about a day... then dropped off the maps. I thought Google penalized me, but I guess not.

The biggest thing I can think of that was responsible for my jump in rankings is submitting 2 articles with backlinks to a PR 6 blog.

I was so happen this morning had to go literally wash my face. but it was for real. my site jumped from 0-5 i could not believe it. i also made a post about my PR success but it was removed from the form for some reason.

Not quite true. PR7 can be PR 7.1 or PR 7.9 and since the scale is not linear there's a big difference. I've seen one single link from PR7 boost a site to PR6 and that PR7 site had at least 100 outgoing links on that page. (will check again later)
I don't even know if google toolbar PR is rounded up or not. In this case PR7 could be actually between PR6.6 and PR7.5

BTW: when did the previous PR update happen?

Unfortunately, the PR update does not apply to many pages. Some websites with good content, unfortunately, lost high Page Rank. I know of cases where the PR dropped from 4 to 2. Some sites have gained from 0 to 4 up. Let's wait until the end of update.

All of my sites that were over a month old were updated.

I look through the individual pages and see pagerank on the inner pages too.

Glad you mentioned this Limestone I hadn't noticed. I've never had above PR0 up until now and most pages on my sites have gone upwards between 1 and 3....

I have no idea why but my PR2, went to a Pr0, and my PR4, went to a PR1, and my Pr3 went to a PR2, the rest went nowhere. And the 3 that dropped in rankings, was all organic, no crap backlinks, nothing. So google's update is crap and makes no sense.

I am with all the warriors that lost PR.

My sites are high quality...hundreds of unique articles...ranking for difficult keywords, backlinks from high PR ranking blogs, EDU links...and my PR has dropped too.

I was beginning to feel like I was the only one that couldn't jump for joy.

I agree with NZB...lets wait and see. This happened once before and my sites went back up. You can never tell until the dust settles.

There are wide reports all over of strange PR readings. Pages brand new with no links getting PR5. It may be

A) a new way Google is calculating pagerank
B) Very temporary so that rather than being updated its only in the process of being updated. In which case some people happy now are going to be sad
C) A way for Google to shake up people and muddy up the market who rely on selling and buying links.

I doubt very seriously that a PR5 page with no links on it is going to convey any link juice to other pages. PR is only a valid way of measuring referral strength if there are good links pointing to the site. I always check the links coming in to the pages I am trying to get links from and will continue to do so.

I think its either B or C but any of them is possible.

I just check my sites seeing this post and I just cannot believe my eyes! 4 of my sites PR went up! All my sites is PR0 initially and less than 4 months old. And I did not even build any substantial backlinks in the past 2 months for any of them.

The result? 1 x PR1 , 2 x PR2 and 1 x PR4!!!! Hopefully it is not a temporary thing for me..

My sites/blog did well. Two of my sites moved to PR3 from PR0 and one moved PR2 from PR0
