Hey guys... I spent a long time getting my RSS fed eBay sites to the point to where they were all making more than $100.00 a month. All of them were PR0. But all of them had pretty good Goo placement in the serps. All of a sudden about two months ago, aLL my eBay sites were gone from the Goo search results. All went grey in the PR ranking bar and none of them have came back in two months. Now I barley make ANY money from my eBay sites and NONE of them come up in the search results. These sites are ALL automatic and I have done nothing to them to make this happen. Can anyone give me any ideas? What went wrong?, any way to fix? ect... ect... Thank you, John One example site is: eliteipodman.com. Thanks again |

What TOS are you referencing? Can I please have a link to read about it? As far as I know, the other sites that use this same script has not had this problem. Thank you, John |

John, this is obvious. You just put up a "thin" affiliate site consisting solely of ebay links. Those sites can be cranked out as fast as you can make them. But for years Google has been drop kicking such sites. This isn't new. This is what I do: First, I use a quality program like phpbaypro to get, control access, and obtain seo features for the ebay program and links. Second, I add quality content to each page. Yes, that's a pain in the butt. There are good discussions in the phpbaypro forum about doing well with thin sites. But it's the difference between a top listing and just wasting your time and money registering domains. . |

Well... that makes more sense. However, I've had these sites for years and never had a problem. This script is just so damn easy to use. I'd hate to have to change to that much less easy script, but I guess maybe I'll have to. I'm going now and do a search for other sites that use this script and see if they have all been de-indexed. Thank you very much for the advise, John |

Looks like that site is deindexed and not just sandboxed. Unless you're making money from Bing/Yahoo, one idea is to drop all the advertising and remove the links to ebay. So you just have listings. Give it some quality backlinks and wait and see if it is resurrected. |

Yep ... Google did not sandbox you. They dumped you right out of the engine altogether. Deindexed. It's not likely they will ever come back.

Also - your domain name contains what, I would think, is a trademarked term. Did your other sites also have trademarks in their domain names?

Thanks everyone. Yep... this sucks. However, other sites that use that same script are still indexed. Two of my sites (I just found out) are still indexed. They are the two that make the least amount of money. Go figure. As far as removing ads and such, There is only ONE site with Adsense on it. ALL others a 100% eBay RSS feed listings. So, removing the eBay listing is not an option. That is what the sites do. eBay ![]() Thanks, John |

Another little tip.. don't put your sites in analytics or webmaster tools. Google abuses these tools by linking all your sites together and being able to deindex them at once. You didn't say for sure that you had them in there, but I'm betting you did.. and I'm betting if you had never listed them in there, you would have only seen 1 site get deindexed instead of all of them.

Well... Because most all the domains had been used for other sites and because the domains were already a few years old and already indexed, I never used analytics or webmaster tools. So, nope and all still went bye, bye in the same few day period. What to do, what to do? J |

Never thought about the term ipod in the domain name. Never been a prob so far. And there are tons of refs to it in Goo and other places. I'll just use it until asked not to do so ![]() J |

I can't tell you the number of thin sites I threw up and they are almost all in oblivion now. Nowadays I go for high-quality content-based stuff, with a scattering of products using my own plugin, following the principle "less is more". Sorry to hear of your troubles, but I rather suspect that is the last you will see of those sites unless you drastically change them. | |

You need to build high quality, dofollow backlinks (preferably from sites with a PR of 6+) to get out of the sandbox.

Well... here's my reply to the last post. Did you read all I've written? They are eBay RSS fed sites. There is tons of fresh, automatically updated content daily. And I have checked at sites that run the same script. Most of them are fine. Still indexed and going strong. I even found a PR4 site that is EXACTLY the same as mine. J |

I just searched and read some on the 950 penalty. NOT related to me at all. 950 puts you at the end of search results, meaning you are still indexed. I stated several times above, that I am no longer indexed. Thanks, J |

I have a site that is eBay-based, running some script, so basically automated, not the kind of thing that Google really likes, but I am happy to get paid - when it's actually earning. It is frequently in and out of the SERPS, but currently kicked into oblivion, maybe for the last time, what with the latest Panda and all. But it's almost like G can't decide whether to like it or not because it gets some good natural backlinks and has some age. One thing is for sure, although it often stops ranking for most of its long-tail keywords overnight, before returning months later sometimes, it has never once been deindexed entirely. What I am saying is, Google ARE going after thin, auto-generated content, and have been for a long while (forget Panda, we are talking 2 or 3 years at LEAST) but you MAY be able to combat it if you have good backlinks and actually provide some value, as my crappy site seems to. But even then it's hit and miss, you can get slapped any minute. It's just not a model I am bothering with these days... |

Good post kindsvater I would be leary of putting up a thin site with all ads anymore without content because its true when google finishes you , you've wasted your time and money. In fairness theres been alot of warning about this so content is a pain but it is part of the deal. Good luck .

| How were you able to tell that you've been deindexed? I think I have some sites with the same dilemma but I'm not sure how to check. For instance, I type site:MySite.com and I get results. Does this mean I'm not deindexed just waaaay down in the results? Also I'm having the same problem with an Ezine Article. Any way to check whether it's deindexed or not? Thanks John |

I thought I read somewhere you were suppose to have a privacy policy to have adwords on your site? I didn't see a disclaimer or privacy policy page. Could that be it? I don't know, just throwing it out there. |

This has to be a horrible thing to have happen. Sounds like Kindsvater's advice might help though with this. Quote:
