How wl this affect my site

Nor sure if this the correct place for this:
I have an older site built with front page (I bought it a few years ago). It doesn't do much in the way of making money. I was thinking if taking it down - re-doing it in W Press and putting more adsense on it. Since it is basically the same domain name with the same content - I shouldn't get penalized by Google?
I would just put up the same content as pages and posts.
