Hello, I'm helping an offline client with her site and I told her it is recommended for her to put a lot of content on the specific page she would like to rank her site for. She said if she can "hide" the content in the "meta". In other words, she doesn't want the content to be shown for the specific webpage I'm ranking for her. Is this going to effect SEO, will google see this content and is it safe to do this?... I ask this because I only deal with wordpress ![]() Would appreciate your response guys, Thanks! |

It seems like a dangerous practice because it onvolves showing one thing to the search spiders and another to human viewers. Every practice invented to do this, from keyword loading meta tags to hiding on-page text using a variety of methods, to doorway pages and on and on, has been slapped as an attempt to manipulate and mislead the search engines. Or, in far fewer words, the search engines would likely slap such a practice as cheating. |

Yes, it will affect the seo... But not in a good way! There have been lots of attempts to show one thing to the search engines and another to visitors, but the search engines have got wise to those tricks and don't look on them very favorably. |

It's already been said, but it will definitely damage your SEO. Depending on what you put in there, the SE's will classify it as anything from keyword stuffing to being dishonest with your content. You'll probably drop from the rankings like a stone in water, so I wouldn't recommend it |
