Hello to everyone. Can you tell me please, what I am doing wrong? Our company's website (PR4) keeps losing traffic. At this moment we have only 500 unique visitors per day. I've studied a lot about SEO | Marketing, but still feel like a newbie. - Content of our site is unique. We offer practically unique software at the market. - Meta information is correct (I mean keywords, descriptions, titles of each page). - Each link, image, Hx titles are related to keywords (upon standard). - Website submitted to directory listings about a month ago. Recently we've added social buttons (share, like, tweet, stumble, etc.) Also, we compose new articles to submit to highly rated websites. I suppose the keywords are not good and bring minimal traffic (rate). How to change my keywords? Do I need to change them at once or changing them gradually? How often Google updates position of our site by keywords? And how can I increase traffic with possible additional methods? |

Here is what Google says, "our recent update is designed to reduce rankings for low-quality sites, so the key thing for webmasters to do is make sure their sites are the highest quality possible. We looked at a variety of signals to detect low quality sites. Bear in mind that people searching on Google typically don’t want to see shallow or poorly written content, content that’s copied from other websites, or information that are just not that useful. In addition, it’s important for webmasters to know that low quality content on part of a site can impact a site’s ranking as a whole. For this reason, if you believe you’ve been impacted by this change you should evaluate all the content on your site and do your best to improve the overall quality of the pages on your domain. Removing low quality pages or moving them to a different domain could help your rankings for the higher quality content." I think its Time for webmasters to write content for humans what i mean is google will be in LOve with those blogs that has a lesser Bounse rate..I think your bounse rate will be high..that's why the traffic Drop..You can decrease your bounse rate through internal linking(linking to relevant posts) and try to avoid placing more advertisements on site this will lead to a lower bounse rate... Regards, Hashif.M | |

Thanks for reply. We have no ads on the site for now. And as I said before, we compose new articles to submit to highly rated websites or to our blog. How can it be effective? Time will show. And can you give an advice concerning keywords? How often Google updates position of our site by keywords? |

Your decrease in traffic must certainly be related to the Google panda updates. Without looking at your website I can't really give much information more then this. |

You are doing the right things. just need to build relevant backlinks. Social bookmarking and blog network seems to be very effective for me. I am using Build My Rank

Concerning social bookmarking What is more efficient: to put social button on each page or in the documentation / blog posts only? Are unique links in social bookmarks needed everywhere on pages (except documents and blog), or post links to main page? |

I think it has something to do with the latest Google update. Maybe you should replace the majority of your content.

Diviner, Everyone above had some great suggestions, but a common thread is that we do not know what your website is? Without knowing that we are shooting in the dark. Thanks! Andy |

If you think keywords are wrong then analysis them with your competitor sites. Find the Globally and locally months searches on them. Use low competition keywords. You should use SMO to increase traffic.

I would be spending my time backlinking like crazy if my site was beginning to lose rankings, to let Google know it's still a well-liked site. Add new articles targetting different keywords, and backlink these too. If you do these two things then there's no way you're going to keep losing traffic. Jonathan |

Social Media is the best way to improve your site's traffic as well as backlinks. You can try Facebook and Twitter to promote your site through quality content that you will post on these sites.
