Does google count forum posts as articles?

I have a forum based review site, 3 weeks old. All my reviews are forum topics. I am using SMF forums.

My question is, does google penelize it for being a forum post? I tried looking up my reviews on google and I have to be really really specific in order to see my review.

I searched angus barn review and stopped looking for it after like the 5th page.

For things like Armour lunchmakers pizza reivew, it was on the first page because not many people reviewed that.

Should I just get all my articles and publish them on wordpress or blogger or something?

Yes, it is kind of viewed as an article, but the on-page SEO for your forum posts is pretty bad - it doesn't even have the review title in the URL.

They do not penalize forum posts. Warrior Forum gets lots of Google love, and it is a forum.

Other forums also get a lot of page one listings.

It is more likely that there are no external links pointing to your forum, so Google hasn't seen reason to favor you yet.

And it could be that your forum is new and your review has not been crawled yet by the Google bot.

Google pretty much counts any "bloc of text" as an article regardless of where it is at.

I think the authority of the site here is matter.
An article on the article sites is higher authority than a forum,
concerning about article authority.
