Define Profile Links and Normal Links?

How it is defined that which links are profile links and which links are not. Actually i am new this field.

Link in your profile in this forum is profile link without text link,
and your sig is normal link with text adorned

All links are pretty much the same, profile links, blog comment links, high PR links, sig links etc. etc. etc. the only differences are:
-the PR of the website the link is on
-the speed of indexing (eg. blog comment backlinks are indexed a lot faster then forum profile links)
-is it DoFollow or NoFollow (can a visitor click on the link and be taken to the website, or not)
-does it have anchor text (eg. will it show up as http://www(.)example.com or Example

Profile links are simply as link on your profile page where the URL is displayed as it is and not in an anchor text.

a normal link could be a forum signature, anchor text etc while profile link is just like a your facebook or twitter profile URL

Profile links are within in your profile page, and it is not converted to an anchor text while normal links are where your signature represents as your link to your home page. This is mainly as the forum posting it is one of the most effective ways to gain bakclinks.

every one know that link is a link but the main thing is this that what type of link .

Profile based links are also valuable as other back links!! Links are Links so you should go for some qualitative backlinks for your site!!
