Default Back link question on using key words

Some time back I read something here on the forum telling me to format my key word name @key word, or something like that. I can't find that post any more and I can't remember how the keyword was supposed to be formatted. The way I did it is only a guess.

Evidently, according to the post, that would hyperlink your key word, the stuff after the @, only, when doing blog commenting.

Is this true, and what is the correct format? I don't want to go out there and post a bunch of links that are screwed up and only get deleted anyway. It takes too much time when doing them manually.

Hi Tim,

You would do this on blogs where there is the "keywordluv" plugin installed. So your name would be for instance "Tim @ your keyword"

This should result in you getting your keyword as a hyperlinked backlink, giving you the link and the anchor text you were after.

HTH

So I can only accomplish this if the site has the 'keywordluv' plugin? I didn't realize this.

I am thinking that maybe I will just try to end my comment with 'webmaster of http://mydomain.com' and hyperlink that with my keyword.

I will probably lose half of them or more, but there is much more availability this way.

If I am backlinking, how should I set up my link? Should it just be one keyword(s) such as "web marketing" or should it be multiple? "web marketing and web development?"

Tim, you can use this tactic on other blogs as well and you may likely get away with this a little bit more rather than just putting you name as blue widget.

It is always up to the webmaster if he will approve or deny your comment and if you put "elliptical trainer" or something else that's definately not your name, then he may decide to just delete the comment, hard work wasted!

Whereas if you put "Tim @ Blue Widget" they might let it pass and you still get a form of your keyword into the anchor text.

I will also simply comment and leave my full name or pen name, as at the end of the day, a link is still a link

Yes, but then you are not building your listing position for your keywords, are you? Isn't that the point of building links, to drive your site up the SERP for the key words of your choosing?
