Default Link Wheels/Pyramids: Can they really keep you out of the sandbox?

I've heard a lot of talk about getting a massive amount of backlinks using a link wheel/pyramid as opposed to building up links using other methods. Is there any truth to this? I'm a fairly new site that wants to build up links a little faster then I am right now.

pyramid structures help, but the ranking will not be steady,so diversify your link building with article submission, wen 2.0 and other high PR links

Thanks! I did a whole bunch of article a submission, but none of them are showing up in my link checker. Do you know how long take to get listed?

I wouldn't worry about the sandbox. Just keep building links, make sure you get some good links along with the others and it all works itself out. Focus on what you can control, and don't worry about the things you can't.

Get out of the sandbox by building links to massively different anchor texts.

Hi, NRC1983:

You should diversify your links (the type of links such as Web 2.0, Articles, High PR, etc.), and you can include these properties in your Link Pyramid.

Regarding the Articles, you mentioned you've had a LOT of Article Submissions, but none of them are showing up in the "checker."

Try this: (Google) Search for the titles of your Articles in quotes, i.e.,: "Los Angeles Matchmaker ..." or whatever.

This should give you a count as to the number of times your Articles are mentioned. Once you locate your Articles in Google, you can click on the them, revealing your links. If there are few or no mentions, perhaps your Article submission is not working, and thus no or few links. It is best then to try a new Article submission strategy, including indexing your backlinks, once submitted.

Hope this helps.

Best wishes in all your endeavors.

If you're going to use a pyramid structure for building links, it's best to diversify as much as you can. From web 2.0's to article directories to bookmarking, etc.

It's best to get backlinks from a variety of different sources. It makes your backlink profile look more natural.
