Which search engine is currently the most used in the world?

Is Baidu going to be the most used search engine in the world? If so, how will it affect Google?

I don't think Baidu will takeover Google. Baidu is mainly for Chinese, yes although they have the largest population in the world but 1 country vs. the others around the globe... i don't think so =)

In china ,the net is not so advanced as USA, many of people just use baidu for search things,

baidu is No1 in china, google is number 3 or 4 in China.

hi, i dont' think baidu will overtake google's place in the world. that's simply impossible. even part of chinese do not use baidu. there is still a long way for baidu to go, but as it stepping hardly forward each time, google makes it's breakthrough too.

impossible, i never use baidu, its search results are more controlled by chinese govenment.

It depends if you want to search the entire web for the best result to your querey or if oyu wnat the Chinese government to decide what you see.

Chinese gov didnt control what you see, the gov just stop people seeing what they don't want ppl to see, there is difference...

If I tell you you cant watch porn I'm in a dictating what you can or cannot see. Yes you are free to watch what ever you want....as long as it's not porn. By controlling the flow of information through the internet, newpaper, tv,(by stopping you from seeing what I dont want you to see) I've created a controlled environment and you can only watch what I want you to watch.

How is that not control?

And NO..Baidu is never gonna takeover google unless China decides to collect on the US's debt by asking them to turn over google. (Which may or may never happen) Even then chinese is too hard to learn to become a univeral language. More than half maybe even 3/4 of the world uses a combination of ABC's to form written and spoken language. Hell, even China has begun using and teaching Ping-Yin which uses ABC's.

We are not as strong as we think we are. We're coming up in the world but not quite there yet.

Baidu is China. Period. Unless they decide to branch out worldwide,
which is crazy.

Perhaps people forget google owns other "google's" and not
just google.com?

For instance,
Yahoo Japan uses google search results.
How about google Hong Kong? Google India?
Google.de, perhaps people don't realize Germany is
one of the biggest users of computers world wide.

Baidu is the #5 most visited site in the world. Sounds good, right?
Until you realize how far google reaches:

Google controls search for 9 out of the top 25 sites world wide.

Now anybody want to try again about how baidu is going

So what? Google controls India searches in India. So?

1.3 billion for China, 1.2 billion for India. And India
will overtake China soon.
