Default Drop In Webmaster Tools Links

I noticed a large drop in my webmaster tools links this weekend, ~75%.

Most of the time, if I do a link, I use my website name or my own name as anchor text.

What I noticed is that every single link that is left is one that does not use my own name or website name.

I'm wondering if anyone else has seen something like this? It seems to me that it's not counting my links based on their anchor text. Never heard of that before, though.

Any thoughts?

Hi bcmwp,

Did you check to see if those links are still in place on the website where you had them? For example, if your were reported for placing comment spam to an anti-spam blacklist you may have had a wholesale removal of comments from a large number of blogs.

If those links are still in place then you may have had those links flagged as web spam by Google. Did you use a link building tool? Google can automatically detect links place by some tools and will devalue the lot.

Happened to me too. I had 61 domain incoming links before and now I only have 7. I lost every one of my blog comment links, all of which were manually entered.

What is going on?

Sounds like you were reported to a comment spam blacklist.

I usually have around 20-30, then yesterday (july 5), they all disappeared.
Today, they all came back again. Its weird.
