Do self-hosted analytics programs slow down the website, do they use a lot of bandwidth and server's CPU?RAM?

Can you install it once and use it on a number of websites? If so, does it leave a footprint that allows Google to see which websites are using self-hosted analytics from a certain server?

GetClicky and PiWik are my favorites.

GetClicky is pretty good but does have its limitations, PiWik is good
but you need to set it up yourself, which some people may have difficulty
doing.

Check them both out for a bit and see which one works best for you.
