Instead of having 4-5 posts all on the homepage how do I create a static page so just one post is sitting on the homepage and the rest are on different pages? I'd like to do this with different random wp themes. |

This is actually fairly easy to do, all you have to do is go into your wp-admin panel, click on the "settings" drop down menu on the left side of your screen, click "reading", and then where it says "front page displays" select "a static page" and then you just choose the page you want for your home page and that should do the trick. If you need anymore help, shoot me a pm. |

Yeah the guy above me has it right. Then you also need to select a page for your posts. You can create a new one if you dont have one already.

Another option is to make your post a "sticky", which makes it sit at the top. Depending on your settings though, you will still have a post (or more) below it. My suggestion - make a page, rather than a post and use that as your static page. For all of my WP based sites, I have one page (as the static homepage) and the rest are all posts. | |

Yeah! that's right. If you have already made the post and don't want to do it again, just install P2P plugin which can help you convert your post into a page or the other way around.
