I'm getting pretty upset with Google to be honest. I've been on the Google Webmaster forum twice asking for advice on why my blog, with 170+ posts (of pretty good content I think), backlinks, etc rates so much lower than very thin affiliate sites. Their advice was:
I've done everything they have suggested and I'm still going down in the rankings. For example, I did a search on: qigong exercises It's my main keyword at the moment. I used to be 6 or 7 on page 1. Now I'm towards the bottom of page 2. Yet in my browser (with me not logged into Google so as to avoid skewing the results as much as possible) this page appears as number 1 for the term: qigongforbeginners.com/qigong-exercises/ It has a Page Rank 1 and Google Index: 22, using SEOQuake toolbar tool, it's clearly an affiliate site and it's kicking the stuffing out of my qigong15.com/blog/category/qigong-exercises/ page. I'm at my wits end. What am I missing guys and gals? I try to provide quality, relevant information on Qigong that is of benefit to readers searching for qigong and yet everything I seem to be doing is making my rankings worse and worse. Thanks for your help with this one. Kindest regards Marcus |

That Google Webmaster forum is like asking KFC (Kentucky Fried Chicken) for their secret recipe. Your answer would be, "The secret recipe includes 7 herbs & spices". Not much help is it? I havn't looked at your site, the best I can tell you is focus on external + internal links with keyword anchor-text. Also, include the keyword in the page-title & url. Related keywords are also important. |
