I outsource profile link creation. A supervisor of a person I outsource too just sent me a message informing me of the page indexing method they use. Here it is: "Recently I found one strategy and so far it works like a charm. Let me tell you the method. For this method I use two Gmail accounts. Now from one Gmail account I create a mail with all the links within its body and send it to another email account. Now from the recipient email address I open the mail sent from first account and click on each link and let the newly opened page open for a few minutes. You may know Google can read the body of the mails. So when I open the message, Google reads the links and clicking the links makes Google to crawl them. So when Google crawls the links the chance that they will be indexed are high." What do you all think abut this? |

I would like to see in writing where Google says that clicking on a link in an email makes their bots crawl the website.

Seems a little far-fetched. I've definitely never heard of this.

That doesn't really make sense, bots don't login to accounts. I'd be shocked if there was any truth in that.

Even if it did help to index a page, who cares? Is it that hard to get a page indexed? Unless you are talking about indexing the 10,000 links you just ordered from that fiverr gig. But are you really going to copy and paste in each link and visit the page? Thanks for sharing though. Really. |

I've Heard It!!! I also tried it when I indexed my site for the first time. but emailed myself not another person. the logic is that the bot that looks for related adsenses ads is related to the bot that crawls sites... basicly the adsense bot reads the email, finds keywords and the link and sends the link off to be indexed, in my understanding. I read a course that said to try this as a method of indexing.. If anyone wants to try this and see the results go ahead! I will be very interested to see the results! |

The problem with this theory is that its a huge invasion of privacy. I don't believe that Google would employ this method. Although the only thing that makes it stand out is that they say that they clicked the link in the email. Google does have unique URLs for all links in emails, so in essence they could 'crawl' pages as a result. Although I do find that to be a HUGE privacy concern as most people often share 'private' admin URLs and other such URLs via email and I've never read any horror stories about how Google has indexed these private pages.

![]() It's a free email, do you really believe it's private & the host (Google) can't see what's in the email? Good luck with that. You already should know that your Gmail isn't private based on the 100% relevant Ads inside the Gmail text. What's privacy got to do with anything being indexed or not? I don't get it... | |
