Hi, I have submitted rss feeds to certain agregators, but have never subscribed to a feed personally, does anyone really use them, it seems a lot of messing about.

From promotion point of view you get more mileage for your content as blog posts are indexed and ranked higher by search engines driving traffic to your blog or website.

It may seem that RSS feeds are a waste of time because RSS works behind the scenes. Once you have set up RSS, summaries and headlines from a website will update on auto-pilot. You will get the latest information from all the websites you are subscribed. If one of those headlines interests you or relates to your own site you can click to view, share or even link to it giving your readers a related experience. Remember your website needs to create value in order to grow your revenue streams, the more value the more users... Equally if you set your websites to subscribe to RSS then other site owners that find your articles related to their content will be sending their users to your site - more traffic, which is what we all want. If you're not using RSS you are losing out on traffic that you were never going to get otherwise. |

RSS feeds are really helpful in receiving updates from informative sources. Lets say you are religiously following soem blog... If you have subscribed for its RSS feeds, you will receive notification for every new post. You don't have to check manually for new content... It saves your time. |
