Default How accurate is the rankings shown by Scroogle?

I just checked a site of mine in Google and it is ranking #12 for it's main keyword, but when I do the same search in Scroogle the site is ranked #1. So which rankings is correct? Why the big difference between the two searches? I've noticed that for quite a few other sites I get a higher ranking when searching in Scroogle compared to Google. So which one do most people see when they are searching for this same phrase to find my site?

Hi mrtrance,

In additional to your history of prior visits your geo-location will effect the Personal Web Search feature of Google Search. It seems to me that Scroogle may be subject to both.

The most reliable way that I know of to check with PWS disabled is to append the following string to your Google query URL:

&pws=0

Perform your search in Google as normal, this will give you results with PWS enabled. Then append the above mentioned string to the URL in your browser's address bar and press enter on your keyboard to see the SERP with PWS disabled.

I tried adding that "&pws=0" but it just seems to give the same results all the time without adding it. I don't see any difference between adding that or just doing the regular Google search.

Are you pressing enter after you append it to the end of the URL in the address bar?

Yes I am. I checked another site of mine which was ranking #1 for a long time which recently started to slip down a few spots the last 2 monthds and now on page 2 at #12. When I did a search on Scroogle for its main keyword it shows it at #1 though in regular SERPS I am #12. Weird that Scroogle is the same for some sites, but others it shows them ranked so much higher.
