Thanks Mike for the Great Post and list. I use most of these to drive traffic to my blog, I have to admit I have been leaving a few out. For my Blog I use RSS Announcer-which automatically submits my RSS feeds to all of the major RSS feed directories on the Internet.
I just installed a plugin for my WP blog called add-meta-tags-1.6 Any feedback on this?

This is a great post,
Their is the Social Sites missing from your website such as Twitter.
I have also found that talking to simular websites, and asking them to display the lastest 3 blog posts (if their in the same niche) is a very effective way to generate traffic.

Twitter is also a nice to to attract traffic .

But , this tool is effective in building a social campaign .

I like setting up my blog to have free stuff (e-books, audio downloads) in the sidebar - you promote the free stuff, and then people end up surfing your blog - my Goog Analytics shows me this works well

If you share free items in your website , you could get lots of free traffic to your website .

But , maker sure to share valuable contents that can really help your customers or subscribers .

One thing I use to generate traffic is to share traffic with others while making friends online I stumble and tweet others almost building a network of online supporters.

And ultimately, with a blog in say blogger.com or wordpress.com and without own site (.com etc), how good can one be at selling own/affiliate products?

In other words, what is the observed level of difference in people's attitude, if any, for similar contents but hosted differenty (own site versus blogger etc)?

combining quality and quantity is great and to archive this you need to outsource your activities so as to get the most .

As you said article marketing is great .

The problem lots of marketers fail in article marketing is that most of them do it improperly . as a result they get burned .

Always focus on creating high quality , fresh , helpful , search engine friendly and topical articles , and properly syndicate them across the net .

This way , you would be able to get the required benefits .

Great info, but looking at it can be overwhelming which kept me back from making an income until this year when I decided to just pick two off of the list above and get good at them, so I developed a great ping list for my blog and submit articles via article post robot and do this on a regular basis which has now become habit and now ready to work on otherways. Just don't let the list lose your focus and make the mistake I did in become a knower of all and a master of none.

In any business , specially internet marketing related business FOCUS is key .

It is always advisable to get focused while doing your business . That is , you have to do one thing at a time and you move to the other things , only after you finish your first activity .

The same is applied to traffic generation activities .

Always , give priorities and take a focused action .

This is a great reminder. I've gotten off on another tangent. When I post to forums then I neglect to anything but that. When I work on updating my site (learning about WP plugins) then I drop the ball.

The steps that you offer is a great way for me to to stay focus. Now I better plan my day such as Monday, post to forums. Tuesday article marketing. Wednesday submit blog to directory, etc.
