I am a big fan of article marketing and forum marketing. With articles you get to own more space on the web and with the more space one owns the more traffic one will get.

With forums I have found it to be effective being involved on one forum. Many people run around to 10 different forums. In order to establish oneself as reliable resource - its good to stay in one place.

From the above 25 ways, I prefer Forum marketing, social bookmarking sites, social media marketing, press releases, article marketing, groups and marketing through youtube that is video marketing.

Tagging is simply put just to indicate that ...

Every time you make a blog post , you need to tag your post using related keywords .

This lists is something helpful. I actually would want to increase my traffic in my blogs and site. Another thing that can help you as well is through polls or creating interesting polls to your site/blog

Polls are also great to help your website to drive consistent traffic ,but make sure that you prepare very interesting polls .

i dont know,but one of my mentor said the best way to get traffic is through a proper SEO technque, do a lot of backlink, that is the key... when u get to the first google page, naturally the traffic will be yours...

yeah that's right with SEO you can get a lot of free traffic. But to build SEO and get a lot of backlink, it's need long time to make your website #1 in searcg engine. you have to compete with good competitors.

What I recommend is that ...

Just draft a plan to drive short term and long term traffic to your website . Combine both long term and short term traffic strategies like PPC , SEO ,article marketing and others.

Another way to generate free traffic to your blog would be to provide a free service that is constantly updated for your target audience. This technique was shared to me by a friend who runs a blog in his website dedicated to fitness.

He works on his site alone, and I don't believe he does any of the mentioned 25 ways, since the site/blog is a labor of love. However, with just this, he rakes in half a million hits a month.

The free service he offers to his audience includes GPS coordinates of the places he visits for dives, treks, mountain bike trails etc. together with photos of land marks and directions on how to get there.

I believe that the premise behind this technique is "word of mouth" which is a form of free promotion in the circles of your target audience.
