Does it matter if I backlink to my domain and my subpages using www or not? EDIT: I use a CDN on www.mysite.com |

Basically, the difference isn't great, but if you have a www website, why don't you include www every time you do link-building?

it's better you stick to one of them, google views them as 2 different urls and will hurt your rankings

Does google really care? I mean, a visitor with no knowledge of SEO dont even know the difference between a domainname with www or without, so itīs 50/50 he/she will use www in the URL. Another thing, my host redirects the www.mysite.com to mysite.com, whatīs better in that case? |

Promotions of the domain name, with or without www is not a SEO decision. It is a business decision. But in my opinion, promoting domain name without www makes no sense when your domain start with www....

For links actually, you should link to http://www.domain.com - OR http://domain.com - however the site appears in the browser www.domain.com and http://domain.com even http://domain.com/index.php are seen as DIFFERENT pages, and they can each have different PR assigned to them (i've seen it before) Make sure you stick to one and one only - to make it easier, I just link to how the domain shows in my browser. I hope this helps. Jeff Lenney |

Ok...what if I use a CDN. As of now, they cache my site www.mysite.com but not mysite.com. I would like my visitors to go to www.mysite.com since it waaaaay faster. Does Google give me credit for the link even though I use a CDN? |
