Default Owning Two Domains in Top Ten?

Hello

I recently bought a site that ranks in the top ten for many keywords.

I also have another site that ranks in the top ten for the same keywords.

Therefore, I will now have double listings.

However, I've not yet had the site owner transfer the domain to me as I am afraid G might see it and not like this.

Or do they not care?

If they do care, how does one pull it off?

Really you shouldn't care, just make sure you have privacy enabled.

and hi to another person in MN.

I'm not sure it really matters.

If your really concerned you could always buy seperate hosting with the cheapest Hostgator (or simlar) hosting. Maybe less than $10 per month. Then transfer the new site to the new hosting.

As long as the new site is generating higher returns (anything over $10) per month, you should be ok, as far as zero debt.

I'd be very cautious, don't listen to the guy that is telling you not be concerned. Play it safe, rather than buying a site that loses its rankings.

What I'd do is find out his hosting company and if possible take over his hosting account. That will keep your hosting IPs separate and won't alert Google of a domain transfer other than the actual domain transfer. You'll want to activate privacy for the domain upon transfer for him but the best advice is to keep his hosting account if possible, or at the very least sign up at the same hosting company that he's had.

Yeah right ... if you do a search for the major companies, some of their pages take up almost the entire first page of Google. I am sure they are quaking in their boots right now ...

I have two sites that are 13th and 14th for one of the keywords i'm targeting. Both sites have been slowly heading towards page 1. Both sites have my identical real info in the whois so I don't think it really matters. Both were even on the same hosting account and had the same ip until recently.

However I also believe in playing it safe. I would prob go with privacy registration since it shouldn't hurt and it's not too expensive. One of these days I'll add it to my domains.

I would say most likely, you don't have to worry; but it's better to be safe than sorry.

Putting it on another hosting account, or at least getting a unique IP for each one. I'd also recommend private registration for both, and if possible different names/addresses.

Again you probably don't need to worry, but think about the potential profit you could make by taking a few extra steps.

Yea doubt very much it matters. The only potential issue I would see would be that if it was hosted under the same account it would have the same IP address. Even then though, I'm not sure that would be an issue. As far as your name etc goes, just get a whois gaurd. Doubt it's a big issue though.
I guess the only way to know for sure is to try it and if you experience any issues transfer it to another family members name etc.
