Blogspot blogs are no follow

I want to know that the blogspot blogs are no follow or do follow. My friend told me that blogspot blog are no follow and if we comment on those blogs then it do not gives us benefit in our SEO campaign.

Most of the blogsites today put no follow tags to prevent spammer. But don't worry about that no follow links still be a link becuase Yahoo, Bing and other no care about that only Google.

I posted a blogspot article and within a couple of days I was on page two for my keyword. In my opinion, blogspot blogs have been seriously devalued by Google because of the whole 'mini-blog explosion' that happened with IM in the past year or so.

Certain gurus helped to spurn this nation of IM bloggers who created blogs with the main focus on gathering as much Adsense money as possible.

Rinse and repeat.

Unfortunately, many of those blogs were crap. And Google has come to recognize that and thus fought it by devaluing the entire platform.

Of course this is just my opinion. I have zero facts to base my claims on. What does everyone else think?

I wouldn't be surprised if Blogspot is No Follow. But I'm still going to use it because it's free, it's easy and I'm familiar with it.

Blogger is still in dofollow. Only the blog comments are in nofollow by default.

only the naked links have no-follow attributes as default...the rest (blog content, sidebard links) have do-follows

I dont know if the default comment system uses dofollow or nofollow attribute. But you can download intense debate plugin to make your comments dofollow. You can also install the keywordluv plugin with intense debate..

If google is devaluing blogspot blogs, which they own, what are
they going to do with free wordpress blogs? Deindex them?

There's no way google is going to devalue its own product.
They may get tougher on spam, but devalue the biggest, baddest,
most powerful free blog platform out there? Doubtful. That
would be like them saying they are going to devalue youtube
videos. Blogger is a top 10 most visited site in the world.

They are of course do follow, but in some cases, comments on blogspots may not be do-follow.

You can check this by viewing source code of that blog.By default blogs on blogspot.com are nofollow but in we can change them into do follow. it can be done editing sorce code.

Blogger comments are nofollow. Links in the posts and on the blogroll are dofollow.

Yes, we do know the answer. You can look at the rest of this thread, or
actually start a blogspot blog and find out!

How is the question spam? As Yukon pointed out, nobody who is an SEO
expert is going to come to the WF and ask that question. Period.

Google makes all comment links nofollow by default. I'm not sure, however,
is google allows the removal of this. They used to, but they might have
made this feature impossible to turn off to combat spam.

You have to edit the html, expand widgets and delete this line:
<a expr:href='data:backlink.url' rel='nofollow'>

But, I have not tried this as I don't allow links in comments anyway.
Google may a have a way of automatically putting that line of code back.

My advice is to leave links nofollow if you must allow them.
