6000 backlinks at once put me from page 1 to 3 on google

I was sitting comfortably at the bottom of page one on google. I wanted to get to the top so ordered a "blast" of 6000 backlinks. Straight away I was thrown back to page 3. I'm hoping it will even out and go back to page 1.

But could be a warning for others - Google may just like the slow organic stuff.

Any one else had similar experiences?

Sounds like you got xrumer links? A sudden blast of xrumer links is frowned upon by Google.

However, if you continue to get those consistently, like 6K every week or something, you should be fine.

This seems to be a pretty common pattern for people who blast backlinks. Often the sites will return to their original position though.

And yes, all the SEO advice I've heard states that you need to make your backlinking pattern as natural as possible.

I still seem to get some of my sites bouncing around the rankings regardless of this but that could be because they're all under 7 months old.

You're pretty lucky, last time I did that it went from page 2 to page 80 lol. Took 3 months to recover and not gonna do that again.

It could just be the Google dance to be honest- sometimes after a blast like this your site will come back ranking even higher.

I mean I think Xrumer blasts work, but you should have a lot of other types of links as well. Social bookmarks, articles, blog comments, etc.

Every time I add a ton of backlinks the site being backlinked drops in ranking and sometimes disappears completely. But eventually comes back stronger than before.

Seems like Google is trying to decide where your new ranking should be.

Just keep building backlinks.

I dont know whats ur keyword. But I can give u some statistics. I am now working to rank #1 my client's homepage for a very competitive keyword "San Angelo". the website was on #24. And after working 2.5 weeks the website is now on page 1 and dancing between #4 to #7 places. What I did? Just built 100 forum profiles/posts+70 social bookmarking and networking accounts+3 articles+just 3 relevant backlinks. And I am implementing a link pyramid. I hope when I will complete the pyramid the website will be on #1.

Now question is why em telling u this long history?!? Coz just wanted to say while organic link building is working and u can hire organic link builders in oDesk.com or any other freelancing marketplaces why u are purchasing 6k backlinks and hurting ur site?

My opinion is just create a master plan. Then outsource ur link building part. Use 1, 2, 3 or more link builders who are experienced. That should be enough for making some money.....

Well u may be checked the keyword using google adward or any other keyword tool/tools.

Did u checked the websites those are ranked on first page for the keyword?? Go and do a short research. U will see(if u have enough knowledge) how many authority pages are ranked there. Then come and tell me again. Huh?

Ok another thing I want to focus on. U said low "quality backlinks". Do u think all forum threads are low quality? All web 2.0 accounts are low quality? Not at all. If u are not new in this field then u must know how can we convert those N/A Pr backlinks to hot cake for spiders. There are lots of methods and secrets. Those can be applied to make a tweeter profile attractive for SE bots. Same for forum threads. And now my question to u.

Did u noticed that each WF thread get indexed by google within few hours or minutes? If yes then why?

Yes, i have an experience about it. i have post 100 about post in different forums and for my one of new website, i did add a link for new website. It mean 100 post links from 10 forums about 1000 link to new website> Google downs the keywords.

So do link blast to direct website. But still you can try tier 1, tier 2, tier 3 for diverting link value to your money website. But don't point all links to your main website

May be Google could not take this backlink blast. Google find it a inconsistent way of building backlinks. Don't worry your site will be back to its position very soon. Good Luck...

Google can detect if you have a sudden blast of backlinks. Make building backlinks natural and surely Google will love you for that.

i wish to add here my experience i had a blog on page 2 of google..i downloaded a demo of a program that send your articles to different directories,well the directories were sometime pathetic,this a part my blog when from position 2 to NOWHERE
i didnt find it in the first 50 or 100 oe even 300 pages i frankly dont know where it is in your opinion my blog will ever come back to page 2 or my hopes are totally lost?

Yeah, that happened to me too. I was at the top of page 2 and did the same thing. I now sit at position 750. If I play fair, how long will the penalty last? Anything I can do to "fix" it?

I don't think there is a quick fix. Some sites I didn't touch them and they came back as well. Some took 2-3 months and some maybe 1-2 weeks.

we all know that google doesn't like automation especially if you blast your site with 6000 backlinks. Build your links gradually, I always make a plan on how many backlinks I need to get to page 1 and build the links slowly over a period of time depending on the kw. I have many sites on page one of google and they are still there after the panda update.

That was not a smart move depending on if you did it only once at don't plan on continuing. Blasting 6000 links at once is never seen great in Google eyes unless you are on a high popularity site like cnn.com or something.

If you don't understand the difference in types of backlinks, you need to learn for your own profit.

Rich was right. There have been warnings here for years about slamming useless backlinks to sites - and people still want to "try it". If you have a site sitting on page 1 trying this type of fake SEO is a sure way to drop your site down.

Sites reach page one because google judges them to have value in the niche. Blasting spammy links has nothing to do with value and this is what happens.

When you build backlinks you need to make it appear natural. 6000 back links in one blast is NOT natural. Expect for your website to fall even further.

You will need to behave and put in a lot of work if you want to move back up in the rankings.

Were they tiered links ? If not than 6000 links blast can harm your sites ranking. Same thing happened to my site when i blasted it with like 2000 profile links 2 months back.

I am probably one of the biggest advocates of automation you will find on this board but even I read you post and my first thought was " what the hell was he thinking"

It is not a matter of slow or organic, I have sites where I drop 10k links on them most every single day and they rank just fine. I have others sites that to do that kind of link building to would be a very bad idea.

How many links did your site already have? A site with a few hundred, 6k is a lot, a site with 50k, 6k not really as much of a problem.

The closer your site gets to the top the more careful you need to be in your planning.

Doing a one time blast of any kind of link is not a good idea, whatever kind and number of link building you do needs to be fairly consistent. What you need to do now is build some more links every day/week that are different from the kind that you did with your blast. If your blast was profile links then I would go with links in content. Articles, blog posts etc, just keep building and you will come back stronger than ever.

If you're still indexed then I wouldn't worry too much just yet. My guess is that Google is re-positioning your site. Usually you'll notice a big drop before you settle back to normal. (Sometimes even higher than your previous position.)

If the backlinks were decent then you'll probably get a little boost. I'd just try to be a bit more consistent. Random blasts can raise a red flag.

Link velocity is a bit overrated IMO however if you're going to chuck thousands of links and then nothing then Google is going to get a bit pissed!

Consistency is the best policy here though, so if you're building on a weekly basis your site will almost certainly come back.

When I add a ton of new backlinks to a site or page I DO NOT ping them! Let Google and the other search engines find them on their own over time. Kinda like your own drip feed method.
