Default Multiple business locations - Google Places optimization question

Places pages pull a lot of information off of backlinks, directories, etc so it's important to be consistent in your listings (NAP) across the web.

But what concerns me is if you are handling multiple locations for a small business, how can you choose which address to submit to various directory services (which don't normally allow multiple listings)?

Are these multiple locations all legitimate locations in different cities with different phone numbers?

They are legitimate locations where the business service is offered. However, the phone numbers are part of a phone tree so that we have one number that goes to an admin. I'm forced to use my client's cell phone as the main listing to confirm changes etc. It is such a pain.

Ever try just using a skype number that forwards, or another forwarding number from someplace like vumber or something? They are so cheap and well worth it.

Can a skype number forward to a phone tree with an added extension?

I don't believe so, but I never tried it. But the way you do it is you forward it to your own phone while you are verifying the places account. After that you just forward it to the main phone tree number and let the system take it from there. You really only need direct access to the number to verify the account.

Actually, every time you update the phone number, or address, you are forced to verify the listing (either by the phone number you provided or by mail). So if I were to change back to the phone tree it would just cause me to verify the listing again and it would fail.

No you don't change the phone number in the places page. You just switch where the skype number is forwarding. google will have no idea you switched it back to the phonetree number. Let me know if that makes sense.

Will this be applicable for any operated voice massaging services or VOIP?

I think it is better to use a general service location to submit in the directories.thus, it will gain the google's trust a lot.and it will help to build your reputation.
