People- I know that keyword density is important in the content of a page. What % is it that you all like best. I use up to about 12 keywords total. How does that compare to your more successful sites? Also, When I build a page, I pay attn to the title, meta description (only to hook the person searching the engines) and keywords. How important are keyword tags? I heard last year they were irrelevant to Google and yahoo and Bing like them. Know I heard this year that Google and Bing and Yahoo all pay attention to them, but very little. |

thanks for the help

Keyword tags and 'keyword density' are both largely irrelevant nowadays, but it definitely doesn't hurt to throw a few keyword phrases in both.

I have heard the same that they are irrelevant. But I still like to use them and throw them in for good measure. Honestly, I don't think Google will let us know the whole truth on the matter but it can't hurt so I continue to use the meta tags and descriptions for at least some of my keywords. But I have had companies score just as high and not use the meta tags at all.
