Default Redirecting a domain

I just wanted to know if redirecting a domain to another one (directly from my domain registrar) could create any problems in terms of SEO.

I have a domain in .fr extension which is the France local extension. Now I want to register the .com as well and redirect it to the .fr could this cause any problems for my .fr domain?

Thanks in advance
