Just wondering what your general terms and conditions are or how you word them? eg if you offer a guarantee such as "we guarantee a page one ranking for one of your chosen keyphrases in Google within 6 months or your money back" (or a similar thing on a monthly retainer) How do you quantify if the service level has been met - you certainly wouldn't want to guarantee it will be there 100% of the time! thanks |

Well I don't know many people who offer money back. I think that would be a bit shady because you never really know. You could have a perfect ranking system and Google changes the rules next month. If I saw something like that I would ask if I really thought the person has the money sitting down waiting to give me back or is just trying to get me to commit so they can vanish if it doesn't happen. So what I do is promise results and after a given time if the rank doesn't materialize quite yet I continue to work on it for free until it does. Thats the guarantee and that makes it very doable. The other thing that makes it doable is the customer chooses the niche and the traffic they want for it but I chose the keywords to get to that target. Works out pretty well for both sides. I KNOW I can deliver and the customer understands how i can and that they will get results. In addition I am not concerned with false indicators like ranking on the front page. My job is to get traffic and you can get first page placement and get very little. So my guarantee involves getting and keeping them in a position (usually top four) that gets real traffic. |

yeah...these are far fairly small, localised markets which I'd like to offer a guarantee in order to ease their concerns. I'm confident enough (until google does a crazy update of some description!); just need to sort out the "terms & conditions" that also incorporate actions which would void the guarantee. |
