Did Anyone Loose Rankings Over the Weekend?

I just noticed I lost a little rankings, still on page one for one of my terms but down further. Did this happen to anyone else?

I checked mine yesterday and yes, they had def dropped but most of my money sites are back up to Top 3 again

I have been doing a lot of backlinking lately so I figured that was the culprit

Geee...whattya know? Half went up, half went down...

Kind of kills the "everybody is dropping" theory doesn't it?

In fact, it has to be that way. Some site replaces your site,
you replace someone's site...and the world stays balanced.

Ours drop big. Looks like Google is putting more pressure on the niche where I work. Hmmm..

Why would you think that? Seems like your competitors might just be working harder...

Using your logic everyone would drop and that's just not possible...

Google does not put empty slots in SERPS. One site drops, it
is immediately replaced with another

Of course going by the WF, you'd think google was displaying
empty search results...after all, everybody dropped, right?

I love when Google has these shuffle days, so far they have always been days of celebration for me besides one time Google danced me down to like page 10 for a newish site.

Over a weekend is too short of a time frame to make any conclusions. Try not to distract yourself looking at that stuff too much. If you are still down a week or so later, then maybe you should start thinking about what to do next.

I didn't experience any drops whatsoever. All of my sites have been steadily climbing the rankings.
