Is there a keyword tool to find out how many people are searching for particular keywords on Amazon.c om - the world's 5th largest search engine?

No, it doesn't exist.

Check amazon bestsellers and crosscheck those keywords/products you see there in google keyword tool. Then you can make some estimates.

No, it doesn't exist. However, it's definitely possible to scrape Amazon's search suggestions and cross reference them with the Adwords numbers. Not a small job though

I don't think it really exist after all. Just search for those products in the Best Seller section and use Google keyword tool for cross-checking, or you can buy an Amazon software called "Amazon Sniper".
