I'm sure this question has been asked quite a bit, but didn't want to spend all night searching for the answer... Can someone tell me the search results under the google search if it is per month, week, or year, etc... Thanks

If you are talking about google keyword tool, its per month.
If you are searching keyword competion remember to always use "exact."

I'm talking about from Google itself... The 48,000,000 (.13) results you get from under the box... I'm curious if those results that it brings back are per month or something else...

The results you get under the search box is an all time result, its the number of all indexed sites that google find relevant for the keyoword you searched for.

Yes it is all time result , but it is not accurate , sometimes you do a search then the result is 90million then u do the same search again after 5 minutes then the result is 87 m , so does it mean 3 M site were taken down in 5 minutes ? no .. it is just not 100% accurate ,
Also if u choose to search for the last 24 hours or last week or so , you are getting the result based on that.
One more point all search engine will not display more than 1000 result . even if they number says 100 million or so .

Thanks a lot guys... I thought it would be similar to the keyword tool and give results per month or whatever, but I guess not...

It's the number of indexed pages. But "number of competing pages" is completely irrelevant for SEO anyway, so who cares...
