Pinging your links will help you build more backlinks to site. You can ping your website address and ping individual posts also to get more links.

I wouldn't ping all of your backlinks. You'll want google to find some of your links naturally and as a result you'll get a steadier flow of links to your site.

No do not ping all your links at the same time.

Use a service like Linklicious which will add your links to RSS feeds and allow you the schedule when these links are shown to the Google spider. That way you just do it once, set and it forget and your links are slowly pinged.

I am still a noob myself, but after reading a few posts here. It seem's that pinging all your link's used to work really well. But with the new updates its best to allow most of your links to be discovered naturally. This mimicks how a website with good content would develop over time, having good content is a must to.

Why make a zillion links today and ping them all of them on the same day? Result: Google finds all of them instantly, checks after somedays and sees that you have not added more links like you did, conclusion is that you used automation or unnatural link building techics and you are not credited. IMO pinging only works best for manual link building or content submission. For automated links pinging aint a good idea.

There are so many tools to ping a website. You can use pingomatic out of them. But I don't think pinging of all links to help you index your website pages or to find more backlinks.I think sitemap is a better option to index a website pages faster.
Thanks!

Pinging all the links will not cause any harm, but it will not do much advantage as well. If you ping your homepage and some of the links then I guess you needn't worry about others

No, that is exactly the purpose of linklicious.me, it lets you schedule so that you can ping all you links and then you can drip them out at a natural rate that you choose.

This way they ALL get crawled and google will know about them so that they can get indexed naturally

If they're profile backlinks then they need all the help they can get to get indexed so yeah - ping them.

A good tool for mass pinging profile backlinks btw is ping device (Google it), you can ping hundreds at once with that

Hi! I am new here, but I keep finding great info on this forum as I am constantly googling the the same topics on this forum. I have had 2 niche sites for over 2 months. I am #6 and #18 in scroogle for my keywords (low competition).

I have tried UAW and blog blueprint for my backlinking strategy and after putting out 1000's of links, Google / Yahoo / Market Samauri has found only a handful...hence my search for the next step: how to get my BACKlinks indexed or crawled at least.

So far I have read about 3 ways to do this: pinging, social bookmarking, & RSS feeds. I am putting my high quality links (ezine, goarticles, 2.0 sites) thru the ping websites to help them get recognized. I just signed up for Linklicious.me to help google see the blog posts made by Blog Blueprint, forum profiles and blog comments.

One glitch has been Article Blueprint (part of the Link Blueprint and Blog Blueprint combo) because I cannot see where the 100's of article submissions are posted. Without that info I just have to trust that they are really out there or is there a way to find the articles? Any thoughts? I'll let you know how Linklicious.me works.

Google seems to crawl my sites about every couple of days, which is cool by me. I prefer to leave that part natural with the help of a sitemap and analytics.

All of your posts on here have helped me learn...thanks so much!

Its really not necessary, the search engines will find them. Some blogs automatically ping, so you might not want to over do it.

There is a very high chance you will get slapped if you ping everything all at once. Some people will only let links get hit naturally, others I know will use a drip type service such as linklicious. I would test them out and see what gives you the best results and use it for yourself.

Let google do it naturally. By the way just because the backlink is not indexed does not mean the google is not aware of the link. But how much seo power the indexed and not-indexed links carry is a mystery. Anyone would like to share their thoughts?

Hope this helps.

By Gerald Thomson

If you're new to SEO one free tool you can use is "Pinging." Pinging your website or blog basically waves a flag to get the search engines and directories attention. This is especially handy when you've added some new content and want them indexed faster, rather then having to wait for them to come to you.
There are a few important things to remember when you're using ping sites.
1. Don't over ping your site, this will look like spam and work against any traffic building attempts your making. This will cause some directories to even ban your URL. Also don't ping when you haven't updated you're website or blog with new content or added some other major changes to your site, such as a new design, or change the layout. Pinging when there's no new content won't do anything other then looking like spam.
2. Pinging your site is not a replacement or a substitute for back linking or other SEO tips. Remember search engines base their rankings on a sites popularity which is translated through the number and the quality of that sites back links. Sites that have better back links will rank higher then sites that have fewer quality back links, even though they ping their site when they update. Pinging is just one tool you can use not the whole tool box.
3. You can ping as often as you want, however some sites will only let you ping within a certain time period. (once every 24 hours for example) Many of them won't let you ping your sub pages if you've just pinged your home page or another page on your site.
4. Your not limited to pinging your website or blog, any articles, YouTube, videos or any other content you have online can be pinged. This helps index them faster making them better backlinks and driving more traffic to your site.
5. It's optional but it;s always a good idea to include your sites RSS feed when pinging.
Some ping sites you should check out are:
1. Pingler
2. My Page Rank (.net)
3. Feed Shark
4. Autopinger
5. Ping Goat

It would be best to ping only the urls with the freshest content (newly posted content) or those newly posted bookmarks.

I Agree with this tactic don't try to force.

Anybody can copy paste a url and ping website, its more of a question of how much value do you think is added ? if a 5 years old could achieve this with minimal training.

Pinging is used to tell search engines that new content has been updated to my site or blogs and also used to make crawl your backlinks by pinging them.Pinging all the links manually is difficult so use some free tools like ping machine and also submit your sitemap.xml to Google webmasters when ever there is updation in your website.

as some of you say ping your posts, but I taught you should ping the LINK of the page that got YOUR LINK on it, so the crawlers will "see" the link to your site? or am I wrong?
Thanks.

Ping = Notify Blog Search Engine = Notify Google

That's the real meaning behind pinging, that's why you'll see plugins for wordpress that will auto ping those blog search engine whenever you have a new post!

Pinging all you live links will help your site get indexed easily. I do it sometimes, I prefer letting it flow naturally.
