Default Is it worth to target domain for exact search of 1300/mo

Hi All,
I don't know if it is worth to target a domain name with the exact match for a keyword that has 1300/month searches

the keyword is for a Voice over IP device which means it is selling on Amazon 8% commission

I found the domain .COM available ?

With the information you provided I would say yes, but theres a lot of other factors that need to be considered.

What kind of competition are you looking at?
If there stoo much competition or its too strong I wouldnt want to put my time into unless I knew it would be profitable. Which leads to my next question.

How much is the product on amazon?
If your talking a ten or twenty dollar product I probably wouldnt bother with it. However, if it was closer to $100 then I would.

I want to review your IM product or service and promote it on my website PM me for details.

Competition is 8500 pages using the keyword between quotes "keyword"

I always build networks focusing on low hanging fruits, much like what you're describing. There are niches-a-plenty, the competition isn't bad & it's great for my ego. Here's how I'd size this one up.

1300 searches

EMD .com available

$8/sale

so if you rank #1 you can expect ~30% of that traffic (adwords tool isn't totally accurate, but the best in the business so far).

That means you've got 480 visitors to play with ... if you get a 5% conversion rate that's 24 conversions @ $8 = $192 in commissions per month.

So after ~45 days you've spent $20 for domain (yearly, private reg), $75 in content (one time cost) and $90 (monthly) in link building you should have a site getting close to my estimated stats for just that single keyword (remember, you'll get traffic from others).

2 hours startup
$185 upfront
$90 monthly
1 hour per month in upkeep (new link building scheduled)
=
$192 monthly profit

Break even point month 3. Est $100 monthly rev after that point. I'd pass on that one for the simple reason that at any time amazon can pull your account, just ask residents of Illinois & California. They're in a major fight with with State legislature over the affiliate tax and are axeing affiliates rather than deal with these states.

If you have other options for a product it might be worth it. $100/hour after month 3 is worth my time.

Edit: it's much better to check the competition using allinurl: and allintitle: ... that's your true competitors not people that happen to mention that string on the page. These are people who likely are trying to compete.

Make sure to assess the top 10 rankings as well. If you are competing with sites that have a massive amount of backlinks on those specfic URL's showing in the top 10 results (not the root domain, but whatever URL is currently showing in the results), you might want to rethink it. If not - go for it!

This.

A lot of people look only at "inurl" & "intitle" numbers. These are fine for giving you a general overview of the competition. But the real research needs to be in the top 10 results.

Traffic Travis (the free version) has a pretty decent tool that will analyze the top 10 sites for you.

Hi purecapitalist
I really like so much your analysis

for Amazon, I am from Canada so not sure if Amazon will fight Canadian

Anyway, I want to ask you from where did you get
the $75 in content (one time cost) and $90 (monthly) in link building

I mean how many articles for $75 and what kind of link building for $90/month?

Another factor to consider in your decision.....do you think your keyword is a buy keyword? Do you think most searchers are actually looking to buy the item or are they more likely searching for information?

Peace
