Ok so first off, my site is sniper based. So if you are familiar with that format it may help you get some of my questions. Here's the deal. This was my first sniper site. For the last month it gradually climbed the first page of Google until finally resting at a stable result #2. For reasons too long to get into, I had planned to switch over to free hosting for a week. I changed over my name servers (24hr wait). Uploaded my backup and WordPress to the free server (8 hours due to errors). And finally when I went to wp-admin for the first time what do I see? I'm being rerouted because the host want's to verify my files aren't malicious (2-4 hour wait stated). That 2-4 hour delay turned into 3 days!! During these 3 days of my site being rerouted do to the host "examining" my files I still remained on Google's page 1 result 2 ranking. On the third day my new credit card arrives and I rush to my old host to make a payment. I change my name servers back over to my old host. I then sweat out the next 24 hours. At hour 19 I am still ranked #2. At hour 22 my website finally pops up! I rush over to Google and WHAT??? No where to be found! The only pages that are indexed are a few tag's starting on page 8. Not the whole blog. I waited 24 hours. No change. I changed the tags to noindex and resubmitted a new sitemap. I pinged using pingomatic. It is now day 3 and the results are the same. My question is should I leave my blog as is and wait. Or should I delete a few posts and wait for it to reindex then repost the remaining posts to show new content? I'm at a loss of what to do now and am quite frankly panicking. What could I do to help the odds of me getting back that page 2 rank and how long do you think it should take? |

you can just wait for 2 days to see if it'll get back to where it was. It's a google dance I think and it's normal to all sites. maybe you need to do more proper backlinking. =) |

This is normal for every website because you have changed your name servers quite often. When we move web hosts or change the ownership or name servers, Google check the credibility. You might get your rankings back in few days, but do not change name servers quite often. Lawrence |

I'm just finding it very unsettling that the blog itself is literally no where on google now. Just bits and pieces of it Like the about me page and a few tags from a couple posts. It's been this way for over 3 days now and I'm starting to panic. So I should just wait it out? Was it good that I changed the tags to noindex? the tag shows the entire post, not just a snip-it so I assume it would be duplicate content possibly causing the main blog not to index. Am I wrong?

Few questions, also ping your blog, install Google xml sitemap generator plugin and submit the sitemap to Google webmaster tools. When you'll add a new blog post, wordpress automatically send out pings and Google Spider instantly comes to grab the updates. Make sure in wordpress settings you are not blocking search engines. And the last step would be ask a question on Google webmaster help forums. Usually, someone from Google replies with the exact problem and what happened to your blog. P.S: Adding the Noindex robot meta tag is a great way to fine-tune your site’s SEO by streamlining the amount of pages that get indexed by the search engines. Lawrence | |

I would just wait this out as you don't really have any other options. It should restore some of your rankings within the next week or so. You could also forward buy some years on your domain name to improve your trust with Google.
