One of the most important parts of doing keyword research is to find keywords for your niche that have very little competition. I was always told to check direct competition for the keyword by searching it in Google using quotes around it since the rest aren't going to be exact matches or likely too difficult to rank above. Strangely I have found one that has nearly none and yet it poses a bit of a dilemma... I found a very targeted keyword, it is a product and item keyword that has, get this, all of 2 exact matches when searched in quotes and just over 1 million without the quotes. The problem is it only gets 78 searches a month according to Google. So while ranking it wouldn't even be an issue, the question of actual traffic come up. The dilemma... Is it worth the effort to make even a micro site on? The product has an average actual cost of $150 to $250 depending on where you buy it and what model is bought. So even on a sale at Amazon 4% is only about $6 to $10 per sale IF a sale is made. Is it worth the time to build a site around? |
