which tools can get approximately accurate traffic information?

Recently, I pay more attention on competitor analysis, which is considered so important. However, I want know the daily traffic of each competitor’s site. In addition to Alexa and Google Trends, which tools else can get approximately accurate info. Thanks in advance.

Approximately accurate? Bit of an oxymoron! You can go to Compete, but it's not going to much better than Alexa. The stats for the lower traffic sites won't be very useful, there is no real way to track it by an outside agency unless a plugin or dashboard has been installed to collect the data. Trends does not measure traffic, it just gives, well Trends as well as comparing different keywords.

What I focus on is traffic for a specific keyword phrase I want to target. When I want to know the truth, I run an [exact match] adwords campaign for at least a week. Then I take the subtract the percentage of views from 100 and take that total and multiply it by the number of views my add got. REAL numbers! The numbers that the big "G" tells you aint even close!

I agree here, Compete.com gives great in depth analysis of traffic trends, thats if you decide to purcahse the Pro Version.

Google analytics is the best tool for tracking your website’s performance. It will give your report of your traffic, its sources, impressions, clicks, goals etc.

I agree with Brad, Compete.com is the best choice that I know of. Quantcast use to be even better, but now they keep the data hidden unless you get explicit permission from the publisher.

You're not really going to get accurate data from any third party website. You could be clandestine and message the webmaster in question asking for traffic data because you're interested in purchasing their site, but that's not really ethical IMO.
