To put it simply - I hate backlinking. I think the reason I hate it so much is because I am not very good at it. I have some great sites that have really good original content and good on page SEO. But I think I fail miserably at backlinking ![]() I started building sites 2 years ago, using only article marketing as my backlinking method. I would submit to the biggies - EZA, Go, etc. Then, thinking more is better I would submit the same article -sometimes spun, sometimes not, to a gazillion article directories using Magic Article Submitter. Of course (like an idiot ) I had all the anchor text pointing back to my money sites - no backlinking backlinks or anything smart like that. I have hired a few backlinking services here and there, and a lot of them I am very happy with (Budget Backlinks!). But I haven't been very good about tracking URL's of those backlinks and pinging them, etc. Well - I am ready to start fresh! I want to start a backlinking plan or system that will help boost my sites and not look spammy. However, I want to be able to implement as much as I can on my own. I am not opposed to outsourcing, but the Panda update - or just the fact that it is summer, has cut my IM income drastically. So, until I can get that built back up I am on my own. Any ideas? |

I have two methods of backlinking which I do religiously every day, I write a couple of classified ads and build one simple webpage every day. Now you sound quite desperate so I would suggest aiming to complete 1,000 classified ads and 500 web pages to kick start your business. You will see results in 1-3 months and don't blame Panda

I am still earning and my sites are beginning to recover their rankings. I actually blame summer more than Panda. However, I am very aware of how much I need to improve my backlinking efforts.Could you explain your method a little more? What do you do with the webpage you build each day? Is it on an existing site or for backlinking purposes?

I have the same question about what is a good approach to getting good backlinks for good SERP. I have used a link exchange system a bit but it's very time consuming and then I hear both good and bad about some of these methods. Are they "white hat", "black hat" or "grey hat"? Will google actually punish you for too many backlinks if they're obviously part of a link exchange system or placed on questionable sites that are created just for backlinks? I see some people on this forum selling backlink systems and users seem to indicate they work but they must (?) be utilizing one of these systems of putting out hundreds or thousands of links to "questionable" sites or pages, no? So if anyone can shed light on what works and what doesn't, what can get you sandboxed and what won't (and some say there is no sandbox?), etc., I'd appreciate your insights and tips. Like the OP I would like to start doing something regularly that will eventually get me Top Ten ranking on a pretty competitive keyword. |

This requires a little work, but I search out high ranking .edu and .gov blogs that allow commenting - that have posts in my niche (self defense) and I add comments - making sure they're relevant. Once I get a nice list of URLs with my links, I go ove to Icerocket and build an RSS feed with all the URLs. I then ping that RSS once only with something like Pingoat. You can also have feedburner burn the feed, then ping. I've also been using socialmonkey to do social posting of links. I get pretty good results. |

I generally don't like to respond to a post with just a product recommendation, but in this case I think Shane Melaugh's Backlink Battleplan may be what you're looking for. It's a comprehensive strategy to use free tools and services to build links, with as much automation as possible. In a video he did a week ago, he mentioned that he was redoing the system and advised people who hadn't bought yet to wait a little longer, so they wouldn't have any outdated videos(although I think the current videos would be a good start). A few days ago he put up a PDF in the members area detailing the revised plan, and I believe that the new videos should be up within a week or so(I'm guessing). Now may be a good time to look over his offer, get on his list, check out any reviews,etc... Hope this helps. Best regards, Kevin |

I agree with Mr Copy about high ranking blogs, but only putting your comments on ones that is relevant or have an opinion on. Spamming with useless comments does not stick in the long term and is detrimental. There is a software WSO at the moment about scraping Google for high on page page rank blogs in the niche that you choose. You can do it manually as well with the right search string. You should take a look a Pixelpipe. It is an awesome free service where you can post your videos, audios, pictures and backlinks and some anchor text backlintks. The sites it posts to are all high authority sites and if you post consistently you can build up the authority of the sites. You don't have to post a head spinning 500 word article, you only need to send a simple post. There are others out there, but I think Pixelpipe is way the best at the moment. |

But I was wondering your opinion about socialmonkee, how long you've been using it and if it has definitely helped or not? And are you using the full-member 100/day plan or just 25 per day? If you can give more details about how you're using socialmonkee and what you know about how well it works, I'd appreciate it. Tenzo, I for one appreciate the link to a product that you feel is worthwhile. I'll check it out.

Search by your niche keywords/phrases. This also serves to drive highly convertable traffic almost immediately, as you're waiting for your own sites to rank.

You should invest in scrapebox if you plan on backlinking yourself. Seearch out .gov .edu or high PR blogs for you to comment on. It's a seriously good ROI. Anthony |

When doing SEO you will need a diverse stream of backlinks, so there isn't really one method for anyone doing SEO. You will need to look to mix your backlink profile up. I personally use Web 2.0s, Article Directories, Doc Sharing Sites, and guest posting for backlinks (this forms my first tier then I just blast links from blog networks, mass article submission and blog comments to my 1st tier). Then, I also spend a great deal of time searching for high PR backlinks as they are probably the most powerful SERP booster you can find. |

I've used PRWeb before. If you have something note-worthy, their backlinks are pretty good. Can get picked up by a bunch of sites, reposted, and the anchor text sticks with all of them so while it's 1 press release, the anchor text may be republished hundreds if not thousands of times. Just an idea.

You can use Blog DoFollow Diver to look for blogs based on keywords. I use chrome as my browser, and use the SEOquake plugin to check PR and inlinks for URLs. You can use Bulk PageRank Checker: Check pagerank of many websites at once to check the PR of various sites. The way I use this is by searching the KW I want to rank for, and using SEOquake and yahoo site explorer to check the backlinks of my competition. I pop the list of links into Bulk PageRank Checker: Check pagerank of many websites at once to both gauge how strong my competition is, and to get a list of sites that I may be able to get a backlink from. I can use that to duplicate the link strategy of the top results, and then add my own links to beat them. Best regards, Kevin |

It seems you are concern of the panda update where causes your ranking to drop. For the panda update it’s just what Google does every now and then to change the algorithm to ensure their search engine result is relevant and benefit the user only maybe bigger field. If you are worry about spam backlink linking to your site please don’t because if that indeed hurt your ranking then everyone of us is vulnerable to it. You can request for a list of all the backlinks done by outsourcing company and mass or daily submission using software. Simply keep on building backlinks from diverse of resources. Have you use open site explorer? You may check your competitor backlinks count and it also shows where the links are coming from, with PR, anchor links. Ya, the free account provide up to 20 backlinks information. It seem this site provide more relevant backlinks information. Hope it help. ![]() Yours Sincerely Randy Seet |

The replies you've got so far have given you some good tips. If you're looking for step-by-step help on a topic so wide as backlinking, you're probably not going to find anyone willing/able to do that on a forum like this. For one, there's simply too much info and it's a constantly changing subject. Secondly, as you're finding out, backlinking can be hard work and many people will be reluctant to divulge all their secrets and strategies for others to copy. A better approach in the forum might be to Google some of the things that have been mentioned so far if they're new to you and then start asking specific questions. BUT, show you're willing to give information and share something in return, rather than wanting a whole a-z, step by step guide.

I think Blog posting and forum posting is much of the same thing, you visit a blog/forum read a post that interests you and write a comment linking back to your site for more information. Be warned never spam, web owners will never approve it, the more value you can add to the discussion or post the better the chances of your comment being accepted and you getting a valued backlink to your site.

Facebook - my personal profile, my pages, groups I belong to and other people's pages. Legitimate websites that don't have link farms or link exchanges. High ranking blogs with legitimate, niche relevant comments. Forums PR Web - by far the fastest way to build permanent high PR backlinks to is to release press release with them. There are cheaper services but they have better, permanent high PR backlinks. |

In my early Post reply, I have mentioned using open site explorer to check backlinks and you can also go through the results of blogs with High PR links. Reason why I think it’s so effective is because these are links that help your competitor’s site rank high for a specify keyword. Another method is to download SEO quake. After you have installed it on your computer go to google.com and click on the “Advance Search” located at the top right hand. In the all these words field type in “Your Niche Keywords” +discuss or +comment and click Advanced Search on the bottom right hand corner. This will give you a list of blog’s comment results and click on the PR icons to sort PR in order. Ya, you may want to use commentluv function from comment kahuna. It simply helps you to find high PR blog to comment on. Hope it help. ![]() Yours Sincerely, Randy Seet. |

if you want to make the biggest movements in the search rankings then you need to focus on the following. There are a bit more expensive options 1. high pr home page backlinks 2. high pr blog comments 3. blogroll & footer links 4. high pr blog niche posts if you want cheaper options then you can use the following, but I would doubt you will hit top 5 or better with just these alone 1. profile links 2. article directories 3. social bookmarks 4. web 2.0 backlinks |

No one is assuming anything! I certainly do not make assumptions when I reply to a thread. You see: a couple years back when I read a thread on a forum and the terms that were used made no sense to me, I simply used the hub of information that is at my fingertips (Google) to learn about those terms. Many times, all I had to do was use the search function right here on the WF to find the answers I was looking for. And I assure you I still come across more advanced SEO techniques that are completely foreign to me, but I follow the same process and search the forum or Google to acquaint myself with these terms and to acquire new knowledge. Then I implement what I learn to test its effectiveness. You might have received fantastic tips here, but the real juicy SEO methods are unearthed when an individual tests and is willing to explore. You wouldn't find those methods anywhere on this forum because people keep it to themselves. But you will find pieces of the puzzle! Putting those pieces together is up to you, and those who take the initiative to do that are the ones who learn quickly.

People always say they're good at on site SEO or they have good on site SEO, but their sites get no traffic, so there is no way of telling if that is true. On site SEO is not that hard... h1/2 tags, title, desc, bold, underline, alt text, good linkage and SE navigation, good content, etc.

Hi there , I use a product called Tribe Pro. You join one of the tribes and once a member you will want to build up a following of other members who will agree to share your content if you share theirs. This can be a very powerful technique as most of the syndication can be done on autopilot. There are 2 options the free option means you have to manually go in and syndicate yours and other content, where as the paid option can be set up to work on auto pilot. Its around 39 per month usd. When implemented consistently will give you the vital back links you need to get your content ranked highly on the search engines. All the best
