Question about CPC bidding on Facebook ads

Hi Warriors,

I have a question and hopefully someone can answer it.

I'm starting to do some Facebook marketing now and I've read many articles talking about CPC bidding strategies on Facebook... my question is this, if Facebook lowers your CPC bid automatically (assuming you have a high CTR), why do you need to bother lowering and managing bids, etc., if Facebook does this for you automatically?!

How exactly does this work?!
