Signature links aren't really all that valuable, but I've always felt the most sensible thing to do is to look at the forums you are currently an active member on, ones you regularly post on, and see if they're dofollow. If so, throw in some links if that's what you want to do, and they'll show up on every post you've made.

It sounds like common sense but a lot of the time I find people simply want to find dofollow blogs or dofollow forums so they can go spam them, which hurts everyone else in the process. Find some blogs and forums relative to your niches or your interests and just become an active commentator and forum member on them.

Nopes I don't think so. Because signature seems to be your personal website or what so ever. It's language shouldn't have any violation of terms of service but still you should read rules and regulations of signature posting of that particular forum then post it.

Just so you know, DigitalPoint recently changed their signature links to no-follow.

I've done some posts with a signature back to my site on some keyword targeted forums. I checked the links and they are do follow. However, when I check in-links on google/yahoo they're not showing yet. I did this about 4-5 days ago. Too soon?

One way to find some do-follow forums is use this search in google:

inurl:forum "keyword"
intitle:forum "keyword"

Or super targeted

inurl:keyword intitle:forum "keyword"

You'll have to manually check if the links are do follow. But if you've got chrome or firefox install "Seorush" (I believe) and it will show you links on page if they're dofollow or not. I just looked at current posters and saw if their signature links were dofollow or not. Once I saw they were I registered and have them on a spreadsheet in googledocs. I make a point to post at least on 5-10 forums and 1-2 replies a day if I can.
