I have decided that i will spending under 100$ (not the original 50$) Regardless, the point is, it's a very small amount of money. Update #1 - 7/24 Update #2 - 7/31 Hey guys, I've never done a case study before and decided that doing it here would not only be a great way to document my results, but to also get feedback from other members/show everyone else my results. There are lots of strategies when it comes to SEO, and i know it can be frustrating for people to pick one specific one that works. So as this case study goes on, i'm hoping this can be an easy way for people that need some instruction to follow something that recently worked. I will be starting tomorrow and updating this thread each week. I will not only show my exact seo strategy, but my google rank, unique visitors for that week, AND adsense clicks (whatever else i use to monetize) So here we go... The point of this case study is to prove that you don't need lots of money to rank your site high in google/ make money. This is about being as thrifty as possible and grinding it out. It can be done and will be done. My sites stats: - Not exact match domain (has the word "center" after it) - Age: Brand New - Competition: 116,000 in quotes - Traffic Travis gives it a "medium" - It gets between 20k and 50k exact searches per month - Adsense cpc is just over 2$ for main keyword (and just under 2 for most others) Here are the tools that will be used (as of 7/18): - Article Marketing Robot (already own) - Traffic Travis (Already own) - SEOPressor (Already own) - SeNuke (will be taking the 14 day free trial) - Dripable (will be taking the 7 day free trial) - Backlinksindexer (will be taking the 5 day free trial) Market/Keyword Research: I am using traffic travis/google keyword tool to find the 5 most profitable and relevant keywords to my site. Then i am doing some basic market research (going on yahoo answers, looking at forums, etc.) to discover the problems/questions of the niche and create 5 keywords based on these. Then compile the keywords into a list (of 10). My SEO strategy: I had originally posted a strategy, however i plan on being flexible. I will update what i do in the posts. So here is where i ask for help..... If you are experienced in SEO, or have recently ranked sites, please add any knowledge you can. Any software, tricks, or tips you have are all welcome and i am 100% open to adding/modifying to my current strategy. Thanks again -Matt |

This will be an interesting SEO case study. You can use Scrapebox blasts and xrumer blasts for published articles to rank them well.

Using Xrumer blasts will defeat the purpose of his SEO case study as it will instantly chew up his budget for the campaign, however, it would indeed help a lot of course.

First Update: 7/24 Okay, so this is my first update, and i can say that things are going well right now. I originally planned on outsourcing the content, however even though i loathe article writing i consider myself to be an above average writer. To pay for the level of content i want would just be too much. So far i have written 5 main anchor pages which are all targeting different keywords i want to rank for. All of them are at least 700 words with my primary article (on my static homepage) having over 1500. I use seopressor to make sure they are all optimized perfectly. (i make sure every article hits atl east 90%). I ordered a SEO package from a fellow warrior in the "for hire" section. It cost me 67$ which eats a lot of my budget, but it hits almost every aspect of seo that i need which makes it worth it. (it was also a review copy of the full service so it was a big discount). This service gives me: - Network submissions - Article Directory submissions (half pointed at my money site, half at other links) - Video submissions - 25 press release submissions - Social bookmarks pointed at the social network - Web 2.0 profiles - Forum profiles pointed at various other links - 2 Traffic Kaboom article submissions - All links indexed with backlinksindexer You can see the full service here My site has been indexed by google however, it has not been listed in the results yet. I am eagerly waiting to see where google initially puts it. Overall stats for week 1 - Rank in google for main keyword - N/A Unique Visitors (for the past week) - 0 Adsense Clicks - 0 Money Spent - 67$ |

Look forward to seeing your results. The number one thing to consider though is time. SEO typically requires time! So be patient and remember to have a budget that reflects that and/or use your budget accordingly.

You can definitely meet your goals, although I think it'll take at least 4-5 months before you get to that point. Good luck!

Google is an interesting animal, so you never know which is why i think this case study is pretty cool. Also, since the keyword gets so many searches p/m and there are a lot of relevant keywords that get 4k-5k-6k i'm hoping that just being in the top 5 could possibly start bringing me good income. -Matt | ||

Interesting study, and I look forward to following it. I appreciate the list of tool, as it gives me a bit of insight about what software others find truly useful and productive.

Well i can already say - [case study] = failure. Why? You already spent over your limit of $50. |

Second update: 7/31 Alright, so this is where boys become men in the niche marketing space. I am experiencing some problems in terms of my homepage ranking. Essentially, so far i have written 9 posts all targeting different keywords. Each of these posts are ranking respectively for that keyword (even if its on the 50th page). However, my homepage is not ranking for its primary keyword. I wont get into the exact specifics, but i opened up this thread to discuss it further. Homepage not ranking thread Anyways, that being said this week has been kind of slow. Aside from adding content, i haven't done much. However the senuke blast i bought links are starting to show up. Along with some residual clicks. However, here is some food for thought. In every post i added a image with the alt tag set to my keyword. These images are not showing up as the #1 and #2 images in image search which has actually brought me in some traffic. It's nothing much, but its just free traffic for something i would have never done before. I haven't added adsense yet either because i want to get it ranked first. If anyone has had this happen to them (homepage not ranking) please share your experience here. Otherwise i really hope google didn't like blacklist my page from showing up in those results. Overall stats for week 2 - Rank in google for main keyword - N/A Unique Visitors (for the past week) - 12 Adsense Clicks - 0 Money Spent - 0$ + (67$) = 67$ |
