I have found a lot of branding (less so ROI) benefits for the promotion of products/services which I have marketed for clients in the past by submitting press releases directly to targeted online/offline media resources (e.g. trade publications). However, there is always a nice bonus of the generation of inbound links from related websites when it's picked up online. I'd be very interested to hear other peoples thoughts, experience, and tips for how they get the most out of press release distribution for inbound link building purposes. |

Not the cheapest distribution package but PRWeb has worked amazingly for me in the past. (No I do not work for them) You get good in context do-follow links and it gets picked up all over the place online

Thanks Nick. I have used Business Wire myself too (no affiliation either ) for distribution for link generation purposes. I targeted the release to one of the US cities even though it was for a UK client as it cost only £125. The reasons for going for the US city targeting was simply due to the fact it had an online distribution option built into the cost and to distribute to a UK list and add the online option would've cost about 3 times more. It does cost a few quid though so it's not the easiest decision to make when it's just links you're after. |

There are some great, cheap PR distribution services here on WF that I've had success with.

Thanks for the suggestion Ashley. What benefit do you find pinging the approved link offers?
