Hi guys. I got my first adsense click today on a new site... but earned 0.0c? Why is this. Also, another site I have in the travel niche just got 0.03c cpc? When I did the research for the keyword, the cpc was around $1.50... I know I should expect around half that... it's usually 0.30c cpc.... but, 0.03c.... Any ideas why this is? Does this relate to the amount of traffic you get? This site is number 7 in the serps. |

This could be because the particular keyword you are targeting is really low CPC, maybe its a particular article on your site if your site is multi-page that fetches really low clicks sometimes. It could be almost anything that caused that small click. Personally, I never work in any niches that are under 3-4$ CPC |

Also, surely the monthly searches come into play... what would you rather target... a site with $4 cpc and 1000 searches a month, or a site with $1.50 cpc and 25,000 searches a month. High cpc keywords are also extremly competetive. | |

Like everything else, your traffic (and the quality thereof) will determine your level of income. I wouldn't fall in the trap of going for low volume keywords with high CPC, because the real CPC is often less than that which is stipulated in GKT.
