Lightbulb Testing the effect of <strong> tag for ranking in Google.

Recently, my friend started an experiment to test "How Google reacts to the <strong> tag."
Test in Russian, but the essence is the same for all languages.
Here are the results:
test.nodar.name/strong-work
At the end there is a link to view the positions for each page.

Conclusion: Google is still a positive response to this tag.

harchenko: I think you will find that the effects different tags have on your overall positioning is minimal these days. It may help tackling long tails but a competitive keyword should be dominated by content related pages with strong off site promotion.

Use <strong> when you need to highlight content for the reader, not for the search engine.

It definatle has an impact on conversion and ctr for users but not sure about search engines. That being said, if it does have a minimal effect and doesn't damage the user experience then why not do it?
