Default Should i "NoIndex" My privacy page?

hey guys,

On a new blog i'm using a privacy policy plugin. It just makes it easier and i know im guaranteed not to get heat from google.

But here is my question, there's obviously more people using this plugin, so should i make the page no index?

I just want google to see that i have a privacy policy so it ranks higher. But i dont want to get screwed for duplicate content.

If anyone has exp on this, please chime in. thanks -Matt

You fear that this page will be seen as duplicate content. Well there should be no harm in making it no index so go for it.

HeDir.com ranks #1 or #2 for "human edited directory"

DebtPlan.org ranks #3 for "debt consolidation california"

You can always make the slight adjustment to some clauses or conditions. It varies from from one person to another, but mostly the document is a 90% duplication, and I never had a problem as such with duplication, or the pages being ignored in searches.

There are few ways to get those documents indexed without the need to noindex them.

You could bury, and isolate the pages, deep ( 3 levels ) into sites, without the worry of them being viewed as more important then they are. You could house the text in an iframe, and noindex the iframe - removing the content, while keeping a couple of important titles and a brief description of the page to index the document.

Hope that helps.

Honestly don't worry about it. Google wants to see Privacy, About, and Contact pages as well as TOS if you are apart of Adsense or similar programs.

Google's not gonna discount your website because you have those pages. They will discount your site if you have a 5 page site, 4 of which are from that pages mentioned above.

I am using a privacy policy plugin on all my wordpress sites, I never make it no index and I never had an issue with it...

I am sure that there is some sort of allowance in the algo that considers that a lot of webmasters use the same or similar privacy policy so its most likely ignored.

Furthermore, I use the same terms and disclaimers page from a template on most of my sites...

There hasn't been any penalties for over 3 years that I have being doing it.
